In 2010 BPW awarded a record number of 229 scholarships to young women across 34 PNG based secondary, tertiary and vocational training institutions to the value of K158,251, plus some advanced payments to institutions for 2011 scholarships, totalling K162,800. Since 2008 the number of scholarship recipients increased by 435% and the total value of scholarships issued increased by 206%. The success of 2010 is contributed to significant funding amounts being secured through sponsorships and table sales from the International Women's Day Breakfast and an annual sponsorship amount of K50,000 from PNG Sustainable Development Program.

In March 2010 for the second year running, BPW hosted an International Women’s Day Breakfast. Over 300 women and men attended the breakfast at the Crowne Plaza in Port Moresby. BPW was also fortunate enough to feature in the Post Courier's International Women's Day Supplement, available to download (in pdf format) on this page. This was our first foray into seeking major sponsorship and it proved very successful.

In November 2009, the Japan Papua New Guinea Association agreed to provide a scholarship for a female student who has an interest in Japanese culture and in learning the Japanese language. The scholarship is for a four-year period of study and began in 2010. There will also be the opportunity for the successful young woman to continue with further study in Japan on completion of her PNG qualification.

In May 2009 PNG Sustainable Development Program (SDP) signed an agreement with BPW to provide funds for its scholarship program over a five year period. SDP’s support has been gratefully received by BPW as it enables the club to provide an additional 50 scholarships each year.
